Shanghai LEGOLAND®, with SRIBS in its construction, is now open
On July 5, 2025, the Shanghai LEGOLAND® Resort, officially opened. As a major project aimed at creating a world-class family entertainment destination, SRIBS Group provided a full range of services throughout the planning and implementation phases, including decision-making consulting, project management consulting, cost consulting, construction supervision, engineering inspection, and lifting machinery safety inspection—demonstrating its strong professional expertise.
The Shanghai LEGOLAND® Resort covers a total area of approximately 31.8 hectares and includes over 60 buildings and thousands of LEGO models constructed from more than 85 million LEGO bricks. The resort features a diverse range of facilities, including hotels, restaurants, cinemas, and rides, as well as performance props and landscaped attractions.
Project consulting
Drawing on its experience with major theme parks like Shanghai Disneyland and Haichang Ocean Park, SRIBS Group, provided end-to-end support for the Shanghai LEGOLAND® Resort. Its services covered site selection, partnership negotiations, project approval, and planning, as well as development strategy for the resort and surrounding areas.
On September 29, 2021, the project application report prepared by SRIBS was approved by the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission—a milestone for the Shanghai LEGOLAND® Resort that provided strong support for its swift groundbreaking and successful opening.
Cost consulting and construction supervision
Shanghai Jianke Cost Consulting Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SRIBS Group, provided comprehensive cost consulting services for the entire Shanghai LEGOLAND® Resort—from design through to final settlement—covering all construction, ride, and performance-related engineering works. The project cost team, guided by client needs, established a cost standard system for LEGOLAND® and focused on technical and economic aspects to tackle key challenges in theme park cost control. By innovating digital service methods, they enhanced the precision and efficiency of cost management, delivering full-process investment control and value realization.
Construction inspection
Shanghai Jianke Inspection Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SRIBS Group, oversees quality inspection and testing for the LEGOLAND® Resort’s work areas, hotels, themed zones, and facilities. Their scope includes structural materials, on-site checks, decoration, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, water supply, and HVAC hygiene. Committed to professionalism and efficiency, the team promptly began material testing at project start and maintained strict quality control throughout, working closely with all parties to ensure the resort’s high-quality construction.
SRIBS Group is also responsible for installation quality testing and ongoing safety inspections of all tower cranes and construction hoists at LEGOLAND® Resort. The Group’s Mechanical Testing Center conducts comprehensive inspections following strict standards, covering quality control from installation through routine safety checks during operation. Leveraging a skilled technical team and advanced testing methods, the center efficiently identifies and eliminates safety risks, using technology to empower safety management and build an unbreakable safeguard for the safe and stable operation of LEGOLAND®’s machinery.
